Some conflicts rage for a long, long time.
The Hourglass and the Darkness sets the distant past on a collision course with the present.
Ancient rivalries are thrust into the modern landscape - irreversibly altering the lives of those thrown into the middle of the angelic war.

The world was different then...
The story opens on the day the planet breaks and a global flood covers the earth. It was a world full of violence, ruled by fallen angels and their children from the incredible city of New Enoch. A city of magic and myth unlike any other before or after, New Enoch's might demanded absolute authority and power.
"An hourglass within a circle, within another circle..."
After returning to his childhood home, Jake was still reeling from the recent loss of both his mother and his career. While trying to settle into the familiar surroundings of his youth, a disturbing discovery pulls him into the middle of an ancient war between the spiritual forces of good and evil. Unsettling nightmares and an obsessive curiosity send Jake deeper and deeper into the angelic conflict until reality itself begins to unravel and bend. The Hourglass and the Darkness Book Trailer
Woe to Emory! He is here!
Excerpt from The Hourglass and the Darkness Part 1:
Two figures came together across the road from the Guard Rail pub, standing just outside the glow of a lone street light.
“Hello, Michael. Glory to God,” said one, a smile on his face. “It’s been a long time, brother.”
“Uriel. Glory to God,” said Michael, smiling as well. “It has been too long.”
The two gave each other a strong embrace. Michael slapped Uriel on the back. “Truly it is good to be in your presence!”
“Yours as well, my friend.” Uriel looked toward the pub, soberness replacing his bright smile. “So, these are the ones who wake him.”
“Well, they will help,” Michael replied, also no longer smiling. “He has been gone a long time, but he has not been sleeping. If he is freed, he will be full of wrath. Many will rally to him. They have been waiting for him, too.” He looked at Uriel. “These ones will need our help, as will the others— the ones who found him.”
“They shall have it,” Uriel said. He looked back at Michael. “It’s been a long time since we have gone to war, brother.”
“Some of us have never stopped,” Michael replied, smiling wryly.
Uriel laughed and grabbed Michael’s shoulder. “Truth!” he said. “But you know what I mean. War as it was then, before Earth was reborn.” He contemplated the small bar once more. “He will be angry. He will feel betrayed. Time is different there. He has been imprisoned there far longer than he has been gone.”
Uriel looked at Michael. “Azazyel will bring his war to the world of men. His judgement is set. He has nothing left to lose. There will be no reasoning with him.”
They both stood in silence for a moment. A car horn went off somewhere in the distance, to which one dog, then another replied. It stopped with a quick beep-beep.
“We will be ready for him,” Michael said. “And besides, we have an advantage.” He looked at Uriel. “Nobody knows he’s here yet but me, Raphael, and now, you.”
Uriel nodded grimly. “Good.” He studied Michael, who was studying the building across the street again. “Maybe we can stop it before it starts.”
Michael agreed. “That’s the plan.”
